Moonstake is pleased to announce that our users can now earn interest from staking Avalanche (AVAX)! Hold, send, receive, and stake AVAX to receive rewards with the best user experience through one single click. After Cosmos, IRISnet, Ontology, Harmony, Tezos, Cardano, Qtum, Polkadot, Quras, Centrality, Orbs (on Ethereum and Polygon), IOST, TRON, Shiden, FIO, EVER, ROSE, and SOL, the popular coin AVAX has become the 19th staking coin available on Moonstake.

This accomplishment is made possible through technical integration between Moonstake and our strategic partner, RockX, whom we have also worked with to enable DOT and SOL staking for users! RockX is a top-13 digital asset platform and leading node operator for popular blockchains like Polkadot, Solana, and Avalanche.

Moonstake started the staking business in 2020 with the aim to create the largest staking network in Asia. Since then, we have developed the most user-friendly Web Wallet and Mobile Wallet (iOS / Android) with support for over 2000 cryptocurrencies. After a full-scale operation launched in August 2020, Moonstake’s total staking assets have grown rapidly to reach $1 Billion. Today, Moonstake is a recognized top 10 staking provider in the world and a Verified Provider of the VPP family of the leading staking data aggregator, Staking Rewards.

Meanwhile, Avalanche is an open-source platform for launching decentralized applications and enterprise blockchain deployments in one interoperable, highly scalable ecosystem. Avalanche is a EVM-compatible decentralized smart contracts platform built for the scale of global finance, supporting 4,500 TPS (transactions per second) output. Ethereum developers can quickly build on Avalanche as Solidity works out-of-the-box. For its consensus algorithm, Avalanche operates its own protocol called Snow which uses Proof-of-Stake (PoS) as the foundation. It uses three separate chains: X (transactions), P (staking and validator activities), and C (smart contracts, DApps) to run the network. Thanks to its robust technical architecture and DeFi ecosystem, Avalanche has become one of the most popular blockchains for DApp developers. Learn more about Avalanche in our AVAX 101 article here.

Here’s a simple 4-step process to stake AVAX on Moonstake Wallet:

  1. Register your Moonstake Wallet via Web or mobile (iOS / Android)
  2. Select AVAX from the “Wallets” screen and click the “Add Asset” button
  3. Access the AVAX screen to check your staking information and validator. From the Staking tab, click the “Stake” button and enter your staking amount (must be more than 25 AVAX).
  4. Enter your wallet password to complete staking.

How AVAX Staking Works

You will have to transfer your AVAX onto P-Chain to start staking. When you hold assets in a P address, you make them illiquid. You will not be able to freely move your assets into your X address, and you cannot transfer them to another P address. To move assets from one P address to another, you have to send them back to your X address and then send them to another P address.

Users must have 25 AVAX to delegate/stake in the wallet, the minimum amount of time one can stake funds for validation is 2 weeks for a lock-up period. The delegation fee set by validators is the portion of the rewards that are paid to the validators. The minimum delegation fee is 2%. However, there is no slashing on Avalanche, staked tokens are never at risk of loss due to poor validator performance.

When a validator is done validating the Primary Network, it receives back the AVAX tokens it staked. The validators will also vote on whether the leaving node should receive a staking reward for helping to secure the network.

A validator will only receive a staking reward if they are online and respond for more than 80% of their validation period, as measured by a majority of validators, weighted by stake. When a node leaves the validator set, the validators vote on whether the leaving node should receive a staking reward or not.

How To Get Rewards for AVAX Staking and How Unstaking Works

AVAX rewards earned from staking are handled on the protocol level, and rewards will automatically be transferred to you once they are earned. AVAX tokens must be staked for a minimum of 2 weeks and a maximum of 1 year, and the staking rewards  (as well as the staked tokens) will be received by the user after the staking period ends.

Moonstake is pleased to announce that our users can now earn interest from the top-10 staking coin SOL of Solana network! Hold, send, receive, and stake SOL to receive rewards with the best user experience through one single click. After Cosmos, IRISnet, Ontology, Harmony, Tezos, Cardano, Qtum, Polkadot, Quras, Centrality, Orbs (on Ethereum and Polygon), IOST, TRON, Shiden, FIO, EVER, and ROSE, the highly demanded SOL has become the 18th staking coin available on Moonstake. This accomplishment is made possible through technical integration between Moonstake and our strategic partner, RockX, whom we have also been working with to enable DOT staking for users since January 2021.

Moonstake started the staking business last year with the aim to create the largest staking network in Asia. For the integration of SOL staking, Moonstake is once again working with partner RockX, a top-13 digital asset platform and leading node operator for popular blockchains like Polkadot, Solana, and Avalanche, to provide staking access to the much demanded SOL coin to our users.

Meanwhile, Solana is a layer-1 blockchain that focuses on scalability, speed, cost minimization, and energy-efficiency. It uses a hybrid model of Proof of Stake (PoS) that combines a unique timestamp-based Proof of History (PoH) algorithm with a high-speed synchronization system. This lets Solana provide a high speed and low-cost experience to both users and developers, promising less than 0.01 USD for transaction fee and 0.001 seconds in transaction time. Thanks to these innovations, Solana has become one of the most popular blockchains for DApp developers and staking users. In fact, the SOL coin now sits in the ranking of the top 10 cryptocurrencies in terms of market capitalization.

Here’s a simple 4-step process to stake SOL on Moonstake Wallet:

  1. Register your Moonstake Wallet via Web or mobile (iOS / Android)
  2. Select SOL from the “Wallets” screen and click the “Add Asset” button.
  3. Access the SOL screen to check your staking information. From the Staking tab, click the “Stake” button and enter your staking amount (must be more than 1 SOL).
  4. Enter your wallet password to complete staking.

How SOL Staking Works

When you make a staking transaction for SOL, a stake account is created automatically created. You can have as many stake accounts as you want. Each new stake account has a unique address, and a single wallet, like your Moonstake wallet, can manage or “authorize” many different stake accounts.

With Moonstake, you can stake SOL to the RockX validator, which is the node provider partner we are working with to offer you the SOL staking functionality.

How To Get Rewards for SOL Staking

SOL staking has historically yielded around 6% APY, though as usual this number will fluctuate depending on network activity. Staking rewards are computed and issued once per epoch which is approximately 2 days. However, to begin earning rewards, you must first wait for two epochs (around 4 days).

Rewards accrued in a given epoch are issued to all validators and delegators in the first block of the following epoch. Rewards are issued once per epoch and deposited into the stake account that earned them. Stake rewards are automatically re-delegated as active stake.

How SOL Unstaking Works

Tokens can only be withdrawn from a stake account when they are not currently delegated. When a stake account is first un-delegated, it is considered “deactivating” or “cooling down”. Tokens may not be withdrawn from the account until some or all of them have finished deactivating and are considered “inactive” and therefore no longer earning any potential staking rewards. The lock period of SOL unstaking is around 1 epoch (2 days).

Once the tokens in a stake account are inactive, they can be withdrawn back to your main wallet address or to another address immediately. Tokens in a stake account with a lockup may not be withdrawn until the lockup expires, regardless of the delegation state of that account. Once the lockup expires, undelegated tokens may be withdrawn immediately. There is no action required by the account holder to specifically unlock the account.

Moonstake is pleased to announce that our users can now earn interest from staking ORBS token on an additional chain – Polygon – on both the Web and Mobile Wallets! Hold, send, receive, and stake ORBS on both Ethereum and Polygon Network to earn multi-chain staking rewards with the best user experience through one single click!

Previously in April 2022, we initially integrated support for Polygon chain, specifically enabling users the ability to hold, send, receive, and own MATIC coin as well as MATIC tokens. As an official Guardian of Orbs Universe via strategic partnership with Orbs Network since March 2021, Moonstake is proud to bring our community as well as ORBS users globally the ORBS multi-chain staking experience on Ethereum and now Polygon!

Moonstake started the staking business last year with the aim to create the largest staking network in Asia. Since then, we have developed the most user-friendly Web Wallet and Mobile Wallet (iOS / Android) with support for over 2000 cryptocurrencies. After a full-scale operation launched in August 2020, Moonstake’s total staking assets have grown rapidly to reach $1 Billion, allowing Moonstake to become one of the top 10 staking providers globally. Since March this year, Moonstake has also entered DeFi together with the newly launched DeFi platform, Muse.Finance, who has begun releasing its core DeFi products which are all scheduled to be integrated into Moonstake platform to enable advanced DeFi connectivity for our global users.

Meanwhile, Orbs recently rolled out its Orbs 3.0 upgrade which utilizes Orbs’ unique features, designed for interoperability with EVM and non-EVM blockchains, to be set up as a separate decentralized execution layer operating between the base blockchain layer and application layer.

.The Orbs Network is powered by the ORBS token, which is used for the settlement of fees and provides the system of incentives for election of Guardians (the Orbs validators) using Proof-of-Stake consensus.. It is accessible across eight  major chains: Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, Polygon, Solana, Avalanche, Fantom, Harmony and Cronos. The protocol’s expansion to Polygon Network was based on Polygon’s market prominence as a leading layer-2 project on top of Ethereum that is one of the market’s biggest blockchains for Web3 builders, boasting over 7,000 DApps in its developer ecosystem which features numerous big names – from DeFi projects such as lending platform Aave to luxury brands company Dolce & Gabbana and NFT marketplaces including OpenSea and Mark Cuban’s Lazy.com. Deploying Orbs staking on Polygon capitalizes on the advantages offered by the Ethereum stack in order to achieve both scalability and low fees as well as high security, while also offering users the flexibility to stake and earn with whichever chain they like.

How to stake ORBS on Polygon using Moonstake Wallet

Here’s a simple 4-step process to stake ORBS on Polygon with Moonstake Wallet

  1. Register your Moonstake Web wallet
  2. From the wallet screen, click “Add asset (+)” and enable “MATIC (Polygon)” in the “Coins” tab. Then enable “ORBS (MATIC)” in the “Token” tab.
  3. From the wallet screen, select ORBS (MATIC) and click the “Stake Now” button.
  4. Confirm the staking information, then click the “Staking” button and enter your wallet password.

How ORBS Staking Works

Hold ORBS Token and no minimum amount for staking.

Agree to lock in and stake ORBS.

The gas fee for transactions will be in MATIC tokens of Polygon instead of ETH like staking ORBS on Ethereum.

How to get rewards of ORBS staking

Token holders that delegate to an active Guardian are rewarded in proportion to their stake. Annual reward is up to 6.67% of the Delegators staked tokens.

* Delegators are ORBS token holders who assign their voting weight (stake) to Guardians, empowering them to maintain security and uphold the long term vision of the ecosystem.

How ORBS unstaking works

If token holders want to send an asset that is currently staked, they will need to unstake it first. The unstaking of tokens will take a full 14 days before they become available, therefore you will not be able to send the tokens immediately. The period during which the tokens cannot be transferred is called the “cooldown period”.

Expanding the staking feature of ORBS to Polygon is another step in Moonstake’s effort to promote the adoption of crypto staking as we continue to provide more options and value to crypto users worldwide, and our close working relationship with partner Orbs Network will ensure a satisfactory staking experience for our users. We have previously held a number of campaigns for ORBS users, including webinar, quiz, and giveaways, and we are always working to organize more valuable programs for the community. Please stay tuned for more updates from us!

Rewards are paid by the Elector system contract after each validation cycle and are distributed by depools between stakeholders in proportion to their stake.

A small part of reward (typically 5%) goes to the validator node, the rest serves as a basis for distribution between all stakeholders.

How EVER unstaking works

If token holders want to send an asset that is currently staked, they will need to unstake it first. The staked coin is locked in the pool for the duration of the validation round (up to 54 hours) and cannot be withdrawn until then.

To withdraw your tokens from specific rounds, make sure to put the withdrawal request until the round ends. You can track validation rounds using network explorers tonscan.io or ever.live.

In case no withdrawal request is done before the validation cycle ends, the reward will be automatically added to your stake amount and participate in validation.

Moonstake is pleased to partner with Everscale to bring our users a satisfactory experience staking EVER. We look forward to further collaboration with the Everscale team to bring even more value to crypto users worldwide.

Moonstake is pleased to announce that our users can now earn interest from staking the FIO token of the FIO Protocol on our Web Wallet! Hold, send, receive, and stake FIO to receive rewards with the best user experience through one single click. After Cosmos, IRISnet, Ontology, Harmony, Tezos, Cardano, Qtum, Polkadot, Quras, Centrality, Orbs, IOST, TRON, and Shiden, FIO became the 15th staking coin available on Moonstake. Moonstake is now also one of the official Block Producers on FIO.

FIO staking activation is scheduled to take place on 22nd February 2022. Before this activation, each FIO token staked will begin accruing rewards at an early-access rate. Through this partnership, the Moonstake and FIO teams have worked together to bring you FIO staking feature before Staking Activation to start earning the early-access, proportional reward potential on Moonstake Wallet.

After Activation is achieved, and as more tokens are allocated to the Staking Rewards Pool moving forward, rewards accrued per FIO token staked will decrease over time. This means that, after Activation is achieved, those who still stake earlier will accrue greater proportional rewards than those who stake later.

Moonstake started the staking business last year with the aim to create the largest staking network in Asia. Since then, we have developed the most user-friendly Web Wallet and Mobile Wallet (iOS / Android) with support for over 2000 cryptocurrencies. After a full-scale operation launched in August 2020, Moonstake’s total staking assets have grown rapidly to reach $1.8 Billion, allowing Moonstake to become one of the top 10 staking providers globally. Since March this year, Moonstake has also entered DeFi together with the newly launched DeFi platform, Muse.Finance, who has begun releasing its core DeFi products which are all scheduled to be integrated into Moonstake platform to enable advanced DeFi connectivity for our global users.

Meanwhile, FIO (short for Foundation for Interwallet Operability) was founded in 2020 and aims to enable easier, safer and more joyful crypto transactions on any type of token or coin. The FIO Protocol is designed to ensure the cryptocurrency user experience is uncomplicated and lays the foundation for cryptocurrency mass adoption. Long complex addresses have been replaced with user-customized FIO Crypto Handles such as “user@fio” that enable decentralized sending, receiving and payment requests (invoices, order carts, etc.), as well as, cross-chain end-to-end encrypted metadata (the information for those invoices, order carts, etc.) that can work across all blockchains.

How to stake FIO on Moonstake Wallet

Here’s a simple 3-step process to stake FIO with Moonstake Wallet:

  • Register your Moonstake Wallet via Web or mobile (iOS / Android)
  • Select FIO from the “Wallets” screen and click the “Add Asset” button.
  • Access the FIO screen to check your staking information. From the Staking tab, click the “Stake” button, input the amount to stake, and enter your wallet password to complete.

How FIO staking works

Hold FIO, no minimum staking amount.

Agree to lock in and stake FIO

While your FIO tokens are being staked, they remain in your wallet while you earn staking rewards. The Staking method ensures that stakers of FIO Tokens will always earn a positive return — meaning they receive more FIO Tokens back when they unstake than the number they staked.

How to get rewards for FIO staking

Rewards are given in FIO tokens and users will have to claim rewards. Please note that if you unstake your tokens prior to staking activation on 22nd February 2022, you will not receive any rewards.

How FIO unstaking works

If token holders want to send an asset that is currently staked, they will need to unstake it first. Unstaked tokens are locked and are unspendable for a period of 7 days. After that, they can be transferred as normal.

Moonstake is proud to deliver on our promise of bringing great value to users worldwide not only through enabling FIO staking, but also by integrating the feature before FIO staking officially launches on Mainnet, allowing our users to enjoy the greatest amount of earning potential per token staked.

Today, Moonstake is happy to announce our partnership with FIO Protocol, a leading blockchain protocol that aims to enable a better way of sending and receiving crypto. Through this partnership, Moonstake will collaborate with the FIO development team to enable staking functionality for FIO tokens on our wallets as an official Block Producer for the FIO network.

Moonstake launched its staking business in 2020 with the aim to create the largest staking network in Asia. Since then, it has developed the most user-friendly Web Wallet and Mobile Wallet (iOS / Android) with support for over 2000 cryptocurrencies. After a full-scale operation launched in August 2020, Moonstake’s total staking assets have grown rapidly to reach $1.8 Billion, allowing Moonstake to become one of the top 10 staking providers globally. Currently, Moonstake supports staking of 14 high-demand PoS coins, 2 high-demand NFT standards ERC-721 and Cardano.

Long complex addresses have been replaced with user-customized FIO Addresses such as “user@fio” that enable decentralized sending, receiving and payment requests (invoices, order carts, etc.), as well as, cross-chain end-to-end encrypted metadata (the information for those invoices, order carts, etc.) that can work across all blockchains.

Currently, FIO staking is live on their Mainnet, but the official Staking Activation is not until 22nd February, 2022. Moonstake aims to enable FIO staking prior to this activation date so that our users can enjoy the greatest amount of earning potential per token staked. With seasoned development teams and robust enterprise partnership networks across the globe, the collaboration between Moonstake and FIO Protocol promises to bring about a satisfactory staking experience for FIO holders on Moonstake Wallet.

Mitsuru Tezuka, Founder at Moonstake says:

“We’re excited to partner with FIO, a leading blockchain protocol that aims to simplify and enhance user experience with digital assets. Sending and receiving are the most basic activities of any crypto owner and we believe that FIO’s solution of a simplified, memorable crypto handle for everyone will significantly improve the experience of using crypto. We look forward to bringing the great ecosystem of FIO to our user community worldwide through this strategic partnership as well as opportunities for deeper collaboration with the team to deliver greater value to the crypto community at large.”

Luke Stokes, Managing Director at FIO Protocol, says:

“We’re excited to see the FIO Protocol join the family of excellent token projects currently supported by Moonstake’s staking ecosystem. Just as we focus on improving the usability of sending and receiving cryptocurrency, Moonstake is making the process of staking your tokens easier as well. We’re looking forward to continuing to work together to make cryptocurrency easier for everyone.”

2021 was a huge year for the cryptocurrency market, with huge strides in growth and adoption of digital assets, NFTs, and blockchain worldwide. It was also an incredible year for Moonstake as we rose the the top rankings of global staking providers, reaching a total staking assets of $1.8 billion thanks to the support of our users and partners worldwide. As we begin the new year 2022, Moonstake as well as our strategic coin partners have many exciting news and programs in store for you as our platforms scale and evolve. To welcome our user community into the exciting new year, we’re creating a series of articles in collaboration with our strategic partner on what you need to know about our partner coins in the year 2022, this time with Tezos.

Since August 2020, Moonstake has been supporting XTZ staking via strategic partnership with TZ Ventures, a Tezos-centric blockchain startup combinator from South Korea supported by the Tezos Foundation. Since then, Moonstake has hosted a number of campaigns that promoted awareness of the Tezos ecosystem as well as adoption of XTZ staking to global users.

Mainstream adoption of crypto reached an all-time high in 2021 and Tezos was one of the biggest players. Household names include Ubisoft, Red Bull, McLaren, The Grammy Awards, Groupe Casino,Whitney Houston, Doja Cat, Linkin Park, Cambridge University, The Catholic Church, UN Migration Agency, Deloitte, Save the Children, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and many more have started building on Tezos network. This has resulted in major growth on Tezos in the realms of NFTs, DeFi, and DApps. By the end of 2021, Tezos recorded over 33 million contract calls on mainnet with 24.5 million transactions being  NFT related. In this article, we will be interviewing our partner at TZ Ventures about what is in store for the Tezos ecosystem and its user community in 2022.

Q1 Which 2021 achievements are you the most proud of?

We are very proud of and still support (tech consulting) our incubating firms who received funding – 1 Seed, 1 Series A, 1 Series B funding were secured in 2021. We are also cooperating with prominent projects in the game, NFT, K-pop and fin-tech industries and have signed numerous blockchain research MOUs. Additionally, we are currently incubating established companies in the metaverse and NFT space – projects projected to be the next big thing in Asia.

Q2 What measures are you going to take in 2022 to further increase adoption of Tezos?

Firstly, we will focus on assisting projects in applying for and receiving Tezos Foundation Grants – more than US$2.5 million in funding for over 200 projects in at least eight countries has been granted since Q2 2021. Also, We will leverage the focus of the Tezos Foundation as it positioned itself as the blockchain popular for developers and creators of NFTs: Most notably in Tezos, music NFT platforms such as Quincy Jones-backed OneOf and AmplifyX, as well as art NFT marketplace Hic et Nunc among many built on Tezos. Formula One teams Red Bull Honda Racing and McLaren Racing are also partnering with Tezos to build and create NFTs for fan engagement.

Q3 What can users expect from Tezos in 2022?

As stated previously, you can expect a faster turnaround in the Tezos Foundation Grants process. Also, NFTs will flourish on the Tezos network due to the blockchain’s energy-efficient design and lower gas fees.

Moonstake is proud to be strategic partners of TZ Ventures. We will continue to maintain strong support for the ever growing and developing Tezos ecosystem and hope to bring even more great value to XTZ and crypto users worldwide in 2022 to help accelerate adoption of the Tezos and Moonstake ecosystems together.

Moonstake is happy to deliver more good news to our Shiden users: Shiden DApp Staking is now supported natively on Moonstake Wallet. You can now earn reward from staking Shiden network’s SDN token to Shiden Network DApps right via the Moonstake Wallet interface with the newly launched “DApp Store” feature for Shiden!

This is an additional option to earn from your SDN assets on top of staking with Moonstake, as you can stake with multiple Shiden DApps at once. Hold, send, receive, and stake SDN in various pools to receive rewards with the best user experience through one single click. Moonstake is proud to be amongst the world’s first group of validators for Shiden Network.

The Shiden Network is built using almost the same code base as Astar Network (formerly Plasm), a public blockchain originating in Japan, and connects to the Kusama Network, an experimental network that is one-tenth the scale of the Polkadot Network. Since the Kusama Relaychain does not support smart contract functionality by design, it needs a smart contract layer which is where Shiden Network comes in. On top of this, Shiden also supports various advanced blockchain applications like DeFi, NFTs and more.

Since February 2021, Moonstake has been strategic partners with Plasm, now known as Astar Network, working together to expand the Polkadot staking and DeFi ecosystems. Just recently, we integrated support for staking of Shiden Network’s SDN, Astar’s sister network, as the important next step of our collaboration and plan to penetrate the DeFi market. And now with the integration of Shiden DApp Staking, we are offering a robust variety of opportunities for global crypto users to earn with Shiden Network with the best user experience.

How to use Shiden DApp Staking feature on Moonstake Wallet

  1. Register your Moonstake Wallet via Web or mobile (iOS / Android)
  2. From “Wallets”, click on “Shiden Network” then “DApp Store”
  3. Find the Shiden DApp you’d like to stake in, then click “Add”.
  4. Enter the amount to stake then click “Continue”. Enter your wallet password to confirm the stake.

Information to note about SDN staking

  • The minimum staking amount is 50 SDN.
  • Currently, each DApp can have a maximum of 512 nominators. You won’t be able to stake with any DApp who has the number 512 in their “Stakers” section.

How to get rewards of SDN staking:

The annual reward (APY) for SDN is dependent on Shiden and its DApp Store. You can claim your SDN rewards once every ERA, which is a period of time that is approximately 24 hours. The claim needs to be done within 15 days or the unclaimed rewards go to the treasury. A claim can be made by the contract owner or any staker in the DApp. One claim will be for everyone, so it doesn’t have to be you. If the DApp owner or anyone else from the staking pool press “Claim”, you will also get your ERA rewards.

How SDN unstaking works:

If token holders want to send an asset that is currently staked, they will need to unstake it first. There is no lock period for unstaking SDN.

To learn about how to stake SDN with Moonstake instead of Shiden DApps, check our previous guide on SDN staking.

Moonstake is proud to be amongst the world’s first group of validators and we’re pleased to help accelerate global adoption of Shiden staking and DApps with this new integration.
